It is essential that you follow what your doctor says when you have Psoriasis. You can do the following if you want to prevent Psoriasis flare-ups for this condition. Here is what you should do to manage your Psoriasis.

    1. Keep your skin moisturized

If you have Psoriasis, the best you can do is to keep your body moisturized all the time. Apply some of the recommended creams and lotions to your body. The best you can apply to your body include petroleum jelly because they are good at trapping the moisture beneath the skin.

Apply the cream or lotion on top of the scales and cover the affected area with plastic wrap or any waterproof material. Leave the area untouched for some hours, and then remove the cover. You can also cover the affected area overnight and wash away the scales when you wake up in the morning.

    2. Expose the skin to sunlight

The next time you visit your doctor, don’t forget to ask how to use turmeric for scalp Psoriasis and natural sunlight to treat your skin. Exposing your skin to partial amounts of sunlight can manage or treat Psoriasis, but too much sunlight can worsen the condition.

Therefore, you want to check how long you expose your skin to sunlight. If you don’t have Psoriasis, you should wear sunscreen with an SFF of at least 30 before you get out basking in the sun. Exposing your skin to the scorching sun increases the risk of skin cancer.

    3. Oral fish oil therapy

You can reduce the risk of skin cancer and Psoriasis by taking fish and oil supplements. When you use UVB therapy in combination with oral fish oil, you can reduce the effect of Psoriasis on the skin.

Apply the fish oil on the affected part of the skin and cover it with a dressing for 6 hours a day. You should do this for the next four weeks to improve your results. For more information visit this site: f95zone

Apart from oral fish oil, you can also apply Oregon grape, aloe extract, and essential oils used for aromatherapy. When considering alternative therapy and dietary supplements for treating and managing Psoriasis, you should always consult your physician first.

    4. Don’t use medications that cause flare-ups

Before taking any medication, especially OTC drugs, you should first consult your doctor. Let your doctor know all about the medications you take before they can prescribe you new drugs for Psoriasis.

You should ask your doctor if the drugs you are taking can affect Psoriasis treatment and what you should do to avoid this.

There is a safe Psoriasis treatment while pregnant, and your clinician or doctor should be able to advice on this.

Some of the drugs that can worsen your Psoriasis condition include Quinidine, Lithium, and Propranolol. Also, some beta-blockers prescribed for heart complications can worsen skin conditions if not used as advised by the physician.

    5. Avoid bumps, scrapes, and cuts

You should avoid having cuts and scrapes if you have Psoriasis. If you cause trauma on your skin, you risk a condition known as Koebner’s phenomenon.

Also, you should avoid infections that can worsen your condition and be more careful when shaving o avoid cutting your skin. Do all you can to avoid insect bites, acupuncture, tattoos, and chafing.

    6. Avoid cold and dry weather

Living in dry cold weather is not suitable for your skin if you already have Psoriasis. Cold and dry weather can worsen Psoriasis conditions.

However, hot weather always makes the condition better, but not in all cases.

During the winter or cold weather, you can do the following to manage Psoriasis:

    • Step out in clothes made of natural plant fibres like cotton and keep warm throughout the day
    • Eliminate all the foods in your diet that may be causing Psoriasis flare-ups
    • Drink enough clean and treated water
    • Ease stress by planning your time to relax, meditating, and going for yoga
    • Shower in warm water

    7. Live a healthy lifestyle

There is more you can do to prevent Psoriasis condition from worsening. If you drink alcohol, you should stop drinking or watch how much you take. There is no apparent connection between alcohol and Psoriasis, but most people think that it can worsen the symptoms. Also, if you are using certain Psoriasis drugs, taking alcohol while on medication can be dangerous to your health.

Apart from cutting on alcohol, you should also eat healthily, exercise regularly, and maintain a healthy weight. Take a balanced diet if you can with more fruits and greens. Remove gluten from your diet to improve the symptoms of Psoriasis.

If you have any skin condition and Psoriasis, you should follow the tips we have shared in this article to heal fast.
